SnapSwing Review
As someone who spends more time at the range trying to improve my game than is probably healthy, I’ve always wanted a reliable and simple way to record my swing. Whether it’s to analyse my back swing, see if a new tip is working, or just share a great strike for my Instagram feed, capturing video can be incredibly valuable.
But let’s face it, setting up a phone on a bag, using a tripod, or fiddling with awkward attachments can be more of a hassle than it’s worth, and I often feel pretty awkward during this whole process. That’s why I was genuinely excited to try out SnapSwing, a brand-new product that promises to make swing recording easier, quicker, and more effective.
I thought it would be helpful for you to see my full review. So here’s everything you need to know about SnapSwing and why it might just become a must-have in your practice routine.
What Is SnapSwing?
SnapSwing is a small, lightweight tool that attaches directly to your golf club to help you record your swing effortlessly. You simply mount your smartphone in place, ready to record your swing, and SnapSwing captures the video for you — no need to ask your friends to record you or have to run back and forth between each shot.
It’s designed by golfers who understand the frustrations of videoing your swing during range practice. It’s a really simple way to help you see what you’re doing in your swing, so you can actually work on it.
While there might be similar alternatives out there, SnapSwing is clearly designed with a purpose —it’s a thoughtfully designed tool made by golfers, for golfers.
First Impressions
When SnapSwing first arrived, I was impressed by the packaging; it looked like a premium product, and it could make a perfect gift. Taking it out of the packet, it has a stylish design, and I liked the textured grip. Attaching it is quick and easy, although there are some clear instructions on the reverse of the pack —no instructions were needed, really—and I had it ready to go within a minute or two.
It’s USB rechargeable, so if it does run low on battery, it’s really simple to recharge.
Also, it’s lightweight enough that you don’t really notice it when it’s on the club, and unless you knew it was there, it wouldn’t really stand out.
Using SnapSwing on the Range
At the range, I found it easy to attach the SnapSwing to the base of my golf club grip; it was secured in place with a strong strap. I thought it would get in the way of my grip on the club, but actually it was at just the right location to be out of the way but still easy to operate with my thumb.
Once I had set it up on the range, I simply went to my Bluetooth settings and found SnapSwing under the name “AB Shutter 3”, and once it was connected to my phone, I was immediately able to take photos and record using the SnapSwing button. I just had to set up my phone on my tripod, prepare to take my shot, and just hit record – easy.
What I really liked is that I can simply record the section of my swing that I want to see, I can save my phone memory by not having to have a 60-second clip of my setup, and instead only record the 10 seconds that I actually want to see.
I also liked the fact that I could hold my back swing and take a photo at the top of my swing to check my positioning, something I’ve been working on recently. I couldn’t do this without SnapSwing. Also, I don’t have to keep walking back and forth to my phone every time, which is particularly useful when I’m in the zone with my practice.
Plus, it’s incredibly portable. You can throw it in your bag, use it in seconds, and focus on what matters: your swing.
Why SnapSwing Stands Out
There might be cheaper Bluetooth-enabled shutter buttons or gadgets online, but in my experience, most of them aren’t designed specifically for golf. SnapSwing clearly is.
The mounting system, grip, and club grip positioning all feel perfectly tuned for golfers who want clear, helpful footage of their swing, without any messing around. Also, it looks really stylish too!
SnapSwing – Final Verdict
SnapSwing is one of those rare products that does exactly what it promises. It’s simple, smart, and useful. If you’re serious about improving your golf swing—or even just curious to see what you really look like mid-drive—this is a tool worth having in your bag.
While I’ll be doing more long-term testing, I can already say this is a quality bit of kit. It’s not the cheapest option out there, but it’s far superior to most of the generic alternatives. It was clearly created by people who understand golfers, and that shows.
