Today, we’re diving deep into a game-changing rangefinder that might just be the best NEW budget option on the market right now—the Cigman CT-1000.
Surprisingly, despite it being an amazing feature packed device I don’t think many golfers realize how good this actually is – it could be the best kept secret in golf!.
Meet the CT-1000
The CT-1000 is Cigman’s latest release, and I’ve been testing it on the course for the past few weeks. From examining its features and specs to comparing its accuracy against my GPS watch, I’ve put this device through its paces and I’m ready to give you my full review.
You might not be familiar with Cigman, but they’re a powerhouse in the construction industry, known for their highly accurate laser leveling devices. This reputation for precision is crucial because, let’s face it, accuracy is the most vital feature in a rangefinder.
Cigman CT-1000: First Impressions and Unboxing
Right out of the box, the Cigman CT-1000 exudes style with its sleek silver-grey and chrome finish, reminiscent of the premium Bushnell V5 rangefinder. It also feels substantial and well-made, thanks to its protective hard case shell. While it’s not the smallest device, it remains compact and well-proportioned.

Specifications and Performance
I’m a huge fan of the Cigman CT-800 laser rangefinder and it ranked very high on my top 5 budget rangefinder list from last year. But this device is a significant upgrade from the previous CT-800 model.
It offers 1200 yards of range and improved 7x magnification, and as previously mentioned it has a built-in magnetic strip. The adjustable slope and flag lock, with vibrate alert, ensure you’re always accurately targeting the flag.
Cigman claims the CT-1000 is accurate within a yard, and my on-course tests confirmed this. The device consistently matched or bettered the accuracy of my V5 GPS watch from Shot Scope.
Even when facing challenging conditions, such as flags with trees in the background, the Cigman CT-1000 performed flawlessly. For example, my Shot Scope V5 GPS watch indicated 188 yards to the middle of the green, while the flag seemed slightly farther. The rangefinder accurately measured it at 194 yards which gave me added accuracy for my approach shot.
Superior Optics: Cigman CT-1000
One standout feature is the quality of the optics and display. The CT-1000 utilizes “multi-layer AR-coated optic lenses,” designed to reduce glare and provide a clear, vivid LCD image. While the technical details might be complex, the result is a remarkably clear image.
Incredible Value: Cigman CT -1000
At just over $100 (or £85), the CT-1000 offers incredible value for money. In my opinion, it’s the best rangefinder out there that hardly anyone knows about. Plus, you can save an extra 15% using my discount code FUNGOLF15 and get your hands on the best budget rangefinder of the year!
