The Golf Buddy Laser Lite 2: Reviewed
Today we’re diving deep into the game-changing world of golf rangefinders. If you’ve been aiming to upgrade your golf toolkit, this one’s for you! I’m reviewing the Golf Buddy Laser Lite 2 Rangefinder, I’ll be sharing why its great for your game along with sharing my video of how it performs on the course!
How do Golf Rangefinders Work?
Rangefinders generally fall into three categories:
- GPS Rangefinders – Think of your car’s sat nav; it’s all about satellite triangulation.
- Laser Rangefinders – Sends out a laser beam to measure the distance.
- Optical Rangefinders – Uses classic lens techniques (think telescope).
Today, we’re zooming in on the Golf Buddy Laser Lite 2, a laser rangefinder that’s making waves in the golf community.
Getting Started with Golf Buddy Laser Lite 2
- Power it Up: With its simple one-button design, kickstarting the Golf Buddy is a breeze.
- Aim: It feels just like using a camera. Point at the flag or any target you want to measure.
- Measure: Hit the button, and the laser does its thing. If the target appears blurry, tweak the focus until it’s clear.
Accuracy is paramount in golf. With the Golf Buddy, you get precision within a yard of your target, giving you that confidence boost for club selection. Talking about range, this device measures up to a whopping 800+ yards. It’s lightweight, quick, and the slope technology is the cherry on top.
The Golf Buddy Laser Lite 2 Rangefinder – A Spotlight
What do you get when you buy this rangefinder?
- Accuracy: Get distances down to a yard with the Golf Buddy Laser Lite 2.
- Range: With over 800 yards in its arsenal, this rangefinder’s got you covered from Par 3s to Par 5s.
- Size and Weight: Opt for something hand-friendly. The Golf Buddy is lightweight, making steady aiming easy even for those with shaky hands.

The Magic of Slope Technology
Ever played on a hilly course? The slope function adjusts your reading based on inclines or declines. For instance, a 150-yard distance might feel like 160 yards uphill. And on downhill holes, a 140-yard distance could play like 120. It’s not just about numbers; it’s about the right club choice.
However, a heads-up: While slope tech is a game-changer, it’s a no-go for formal competitions. Keep it off, or you could get disqualified from that monthly medal!
The Flip Side
No product is without its quirks. With rangefinders, you need a clear line of sight. They can’t peep around corners or through hills. This is why I also use a Golf GPS watch on the course, to make sure everything is covered. My watch of choice is the golf Buddy Aim W12 GPS watch. Read my review of this watch here.
The Golf Buddy Laser Lite 2, priced around £160 or $200, is a value-packed addition for golfers keen on improving their golf game. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve tried it out and what you thought?
