The Best Golf Podcasts (2024 Update)

The growth in podcasts has been increasing for a number of years, and we’ve not yet seen the peak of the possible listeners. Podcasts insights show that there are now over 2 million podcasts! This is amazing considering in the recent podcasts insights report there were only 850,000 podcasts available. This is good news if you’re an avid listener of podcasts because you’ll have a huge amount of content to consume. However, not great news if you’re planning on starting your own podcast as competition is tough! As our article was so popular last year we’ve spent some time reviewing and re-ranking the Best Golf Podcasts you need to listen to this year!

For golf fans this is great news, with a growing number of golf related podcasts there are even more ways for you to immerse yourself in this amazing game.

In the Podcast Trends Report there were some really interesting statistics. This report indicated that listeners were now spending even more time consuming podcasts and that this had grown significantly in the last three years. We’ve seen a huge increase in the number of podcasts out on the market, so we’ve taken some time to review and list the best golf podcasts so that you can find your perfect playlist.

Listening to Golf Podcasts
Podcasts are even more popular in 2021

The report showed that podcast listeners listen to an average of at least 7 shows each week, up from 5 last year. Also over 21% of listeners were subscribed to 70 different podcasts. Also it showed that 94% of podcast listeners are subscribed to at least one social media channel compared to 81% for the entire population. Finally for any budding podcasters, the insights report showed that Comedy is the most popular podcasting genre.

The Best Golf Podcasts
Get A Grip Podcast

(5 Stars from 43 Ratings)

Hosted by broadcaster Shane Bacon, Get a Grip is a golf-centric podcast making light of a rather stuffy sport with legitimate insight into the game. It’s essentially the public golf course of podcasts. The show will offer a look into the PGA Tour week in and week out and have some fun at both the players’ and golf fans’ expenses.

FunGolf Opinion: Slick production, with a very well put together podcast. Light hearted conversation but backed up by strong knowledge of the game. Not surprised by the 5 star rating, this is one of the best golf podcasts that you will want to subscribe to so you don’t miss any!

FunGolf Opinion: This is one of our top choices. A very informative podcast which looks at the game from every angle. It’s been going a very long time, yet the content is still strong. Mark talks to you more as a friend than a presenter. Great stuff!

The Best Golf Podcasts
Shotgun Start Podcast

(4.8 Stars from 78 Ratings)

“The Shotgun Start with Andy Johnson of The Fried Egg and Brendan Porath of SB Nation is a podcast waiting for you early in the morning that quickly blasts through a variety of topics (usually) related to golf and (ideally) relevant to the day. It covers news from the pro tours around the world, amusing and important topics from the amateur game the rest of us play, and some irreverent stuff in between. There will be short interviews, previews, reviews, and dives into the archives. It provides what you need to know on golf through a rapid and fun catch-up discussion.”

FunGolf Opinion: The dynamic between the Andy and Brendan is great. They have made us laugh out loud nearly every episode. They’re knowledgeable but don’t ram it down your throat, a very lighthearted but competent look at the game. In our top 5 golf podcasts and with three episodes a week these guys are relentless in producing content!
