PGA – Driving For Show?

How long drives can transform your game

Is more control off the tee required?

When watching the 2020 USPGA last weekend I was really disappointed with the standard of golf from the top golfers. They seemed to treat the course as an opportunity to hit the longest drives rather than play sensibly and manage the course. To understand how to choose the best Beginner Golf Clubs for you make sure to check out our comprehensive guide. Meanwhile, to validate my theory about Pro golfers I went onto the PGA Tour website and checked the stats page for percentage of fairways hit at the recent US PGA, which was won by Collin Morikawa. Your big guns Cameron Champ and Bryson DeChambeau hit 51% and 54% of fairways respectively. This in contrast to Collin Morikawa hit just over 70%, 39 of 55 fairways hit. It’s no surprise therefore that he was the overall winner.

With the work that Bryson DeChambeau has put in with his fitness and excercise regime it is not wonder that he has been able to dramatically improve the distance he can hit the golf ball.

How far does Bryson DeChambeau hit his golf clubs?

Have a look at the guide below which will show you how Bryson DeChambeau’s shot length compares with the average golfer:

Bryson DeChambeau Club Distance Comparison Chart

You can see just how far, above the average, Bryson is able to hit the golf ball.

Interestingly DeChambeau and Champ’s total putts were among the lowest for the tournament, an area of his game which has really come on recently. Bryson was actually ranked #1 for the number of one putts. Also their greens in regulation percentage were also among the highest. How much better could they have done if they had hit a few more fairways from the tee?
